Due to the continued presence of COVID-19 and the high unemployment rate, Congress is proposing the latest stimulus check as “a current gap closure” until the economy can pick back up. People are watching the news and wondering…. Will I qualify for the next stimulus check?
If you are asking this question, you may be wondering what the qualifications to receive this next possible stimulus check is?
The qualifications are as follows:
- Individuals earning an adjusted gross income up to $75,000 per year in 2019 (or 2018, depending on their latest tax return filed) would receive the full $1,200.
- Couples earning an adjusted gross income up to $150,000 per year in 2019 (or 2018, depending on their latest tax return filed) would receive the full $2,400.
- Individuals with dependents would receive an additional $500 for each dependent of any age. Under the CARES Act, dependents had to be under 17 years of age.
- Individuals with no income and those whose income comes from programs such as SSI benefits would still be eligible for the full rebate amount.
